Co-Owner, Master Stylist, Curlology Certified Curl Specialist. Marysa (she/her) (Aquarius) is co-owner and master stylist with 12 years of experience. She is dedicated to making sure each client feels like the best versions of themselves when they leave her chair. Ensuring a safe space for clients and at the same time making sure her staff is just as well cared for is her biggest priority as co-owner. Her favorite services to perform are precision bobs, blonding, color corrections, and curly cuts on long hair. She loves to chat about cats, weird history, astrology, and fantasy fiction.

Dak (She/Her)
Co-Owner, Master Stylist, Curlology Certified Curl Specialist. Dakota (AKA Dak) (she/her) (Taurus) is co-owner and master stylist with 11 years of experience. Dak combines her passions for public health, human rights, and gender-affirming hair everyday as a stylist and business owner. She loves doing anything creative and textured including short hair, clipper cuts, fades, shags, and curly hair. She’s also a braider! Dak is totally fine with a quiet service, or she’s happy to chat about food, community building, cats, and anything DIY!
Dakota’s hourly rate for services is $68+, and she is currently not accepting new color clients (haircuts only).
Liz (she/her)
Stylist. Liz (she/her) (Cancer) is a stylist with 6 years of experience. She specializes in vivid colors and edgy haircuts, but is also very talented when it comes to natural colors, blonding and balayage services. Liz loves her “farm” animals and has a lot of little creatures running around, ranging from bunnies to dogs, but please don’t offer her free animals, she will take them.. currently looking for a goat or mini cow, maybe a pony..
Liz’s hourly rate for services is $62+, and she is currently booking 2-3 weeks in advance.
Christie (She/Her)
Master Stylist. Christie (she/her) is a master stylist with over 12 years of experience! She is an absolute magician with clipper cuts, taper fades, classic flows, and long-layered cuts. She also loves a good updo for a wedding or special occasion. Christie is your gal for conversation about travel, her dog Penny, and a good book.
Christie joined out team over the 2024 holiday season and we are lucky to still have her every other weekend! Her hourly rate for services is $68+.
Cheslea (she/her)
Stylist. Chelsea (she/her) (Capricorn) is a stylist with 5 years of experience making her clients feel like their best selves! She loves all things hair but specializes in blonding, balayage and color services. Chelsea is a lifelong native of the Lawrence area, she’s your go-to if you are looking for something fun to do, eat or drink. Her two young kids keep her plenty busy when she’s away from The Hive! You can count on great conversation and incredible attention to detail in Chelsea’s chair.
Chelsea’s hourly rate for services is $55+, and she is booking 1-2 weeks in advance!
Ashley (she/Her)
Stylist, Extensions Specialist, & Makeup Artist. Ashley (she/her) (Virgo) is a stylist with 4 years of experience and the newest member of our team! She brings a wealth of knowledge about hand tied extensions, balayage, makeup, and curly hair to her services! Ashley also loves a colorful vivids transformation, and doesn’t shy away from a challenge.
Ashley’s hourly rate for services is $57+ and she is available for same-day appointments!
Tess (she/her)
Esthetician & Nail Technician. Tess (she/her) (Leo) has been a Nail Technician for four years, doing incredible acrylic nail design. She is also now our team’s Esthetician, starting her journey into facials, body waxing, customized brows and lash lifts, and more! Tess loves seeing a client’s reaction at the end of their service. She values authenticity and kindness but puts compassion above all. Children are her favorite and she has too many siblings to count. If you mention poetry, hello kitty, or the movie Step Brothers, she will be your best friend.
